The Damned Things is an American hard rock supergroup formed by musicians from prominent rock bands. The lineup features Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley from Fall Out Boy, Keith Buckley and Josh Newton from Every Time I Die, and Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano from Anthrax. The band's name draws inspiration from the lyrics of the 1970s version of "Black Betty" by Ram Jam.

Their debut album, Ironiclast, was released on December 14, 2010, via Island Records. Guitarist Joe Trohman described the album's sound as a deliberate fusion of blues-oriented, riff-driven heavy and classic rock. The band aimed to incorporate elements from their respective projects, blending the traditional hard rock sound with the heavier styles of Anthrax and Every Time I Die, while also integrating the catchy, hook-laden choruses characteristic of Fall Out Boy. Trohman has cited influences such as Thin Lizzy and Led Zeppelin on the record.
