History

The Bakerton Group is an instrumental side project featuring the core members of the rock band Clutch: Tim Sult, Jean-Paul Gaster, Dan Maines, and Neil Fallon. Keyboardist Per Wiberg, known for his work with Opeth and Spiritual Beggars, contributed organ to their recording "El Rojo."

The band's music is characterized by its instrumental nature, closely mirroring the extended improvisational jams often performed by Clutch in live settings. This approach allows for a focus on intricate musicianship and sonic exploration.

The Bakerton Group has released three official recordings. These include the three-track EP Space Guitars, a self-titled album issued in late 2007, and El Rojo, which was released in February 2009. Their music has also appeared on various compilation albums.

The group served as the opening act for Clutch's extensive "An Evening With Clutch" tour.
