Pedro Fernández is a celebrated Mexican singer, actor, and songwriter who has remained a prominent figure in Latin entertainment for over four decades. Born José Martín Cuevas Cobos on September 28, 1969, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, he adopted his stage name as a tribute to two of his greatest musical inspirations: Pedro Infante and Vicente Fernández.
Fernández began his career at a remarkably young age. His talent was discovered by the legendary Vicente Fernández, who was so impressed by the young boy's voice that he helped him secure a recording contract with CBS Records. In 1979, at just nine years old, he starred in the film La Niña de la mochila azul. Both the movie and its title track became massive international successes, establishing him as a premier child star throughout Latin America and the United States.
