Ken Carson
Kenyatta Lee Frazier Jr. (born April 11, 2000), known professionally as Ken Carson, is an American recording artist and record producer from Atlanta, Georgia. He is currently signed to the Opium record label.
Early Career and Musical Beginnings
Carson initially adopted the stage name Ken Car$on but later changed it to Ken Carson. He explained in an interview that he was inspired by the Barbie character Ken and aimed to "live better than him." His career gained momentum after meeting record producer TM88 in 2015, which led to him signing with 808 Mafia as a rapper.
EPs and SoundCloud Releases
In 2020, Ken Carson released his first two EPs, Boy Barbie and Teen X. The latter featured his notable track “Yale.” He continued his output in 2021 with the release of the first Lost Files compilation on SoundCloud, followed by his third EP, Teen X: Relapsed, which included the song “High as Sh!t.”
Debut Album and Rise to Prominence
Carson's debut album, Project X, was released on July 23, 2021. The album garnered significant attention through social media, with tracks like “Rock N Roll” and “Change” gaining popularity.
Sophomore Album and Chart Success
In 2022, Ken Carson signed with Interscope Records. He released the third installment of Lost Files on SoundCloud, featuring artists such as Lil Tecca and Destroy Lonely. His second album, X, was released on July 8, 2022. Despite mixed critical reception, the album, featuring labelmates Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang, reached #115 on the Billboard 200 chart. The deluxe version, XTENDED, followed on October 31, 2022.
Critical Acclaim and Commercial Breakthrough
On October 13, 2023, Ken Carson released his third studio album, A Great Chaos. This release was met with considerably greater critical acclaim and commercial success. Critics praised its production and appeal, and the album debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200, selling 48,507 album-equivalent units in its first week, marking his first top 20 album. The deluxe version, A Great Chaos (Deluxe), released on July 5, 2024, included seven additional tracks and featured his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with the single "Overseas." His fourth album, More Chaos, was released on April 11, 2025, becoming his first #1 on the Billboard 200.
