Moon Destroys is the creative project of guitarist Juan Montoya, formerly of Torche, and drummer Evan Diprima, known for his work with Brother Hawk and Royal Thunder. After collaborating in various musical settings for over ten years, the duo has united under the banner of Moon Destroys to release their debut EP, Maiden Voyage.
This EP is an ambitious exploration of sound, merging heavy, riff-driven music with psychedelic elements and evocative imagery. It features two main tracks: “Blue Giant,” which includes guest vocals from Troy Sanders of Mastodon, and “Stormbringer,” showcasing the vocals of Paul Masvidal of Cynic alongside synthesizers by Bryan Richie of The Sword. Three instrumental interludes connect these tracks, creating a cohesive and immersive journey through expansive sonic landscapes.
