Austrian duo Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister achieved international recognition for their distinctive downtempo and chillout remixes. Their signature sound often incorporated elements of bossa nova and jazz, applied to a diverse range of artists spanning from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Depeche Mode to Roni Size and Madonna.

Their 1993 EP, G-Stoned, featuring the hypnotic track "High Noon," garnered critical acclaim, particularly in the UK. Gilles Peterson championed the track on his renowned Worldwide show, bringing the duo to wider attention. While celebrated for their remixing prowess, notably compiled on the 1998 double album The K&D Sessions, Kruder & Dorfmeister also built a reputation across Europe for their dynamic live DJ sets and, to a lesser extent, their original compositions.
