Ora Denise Allen (July 16, 1934 – January 8, 2018), known professionally as Denise LaSalle, was an influential American blues, R&B, and soul singer, songwriter, and record producer. Following the passing of Koko Taylor, LaSalle was widely recognized as the "Queen of the Blues."

Born near Sidon, Mississippi, and raised in Belzoni, LaSalle began her musical journey singing in church choirs. She relocated to Chicago in the early 1960s, where she immersed herself in the city's R&B scene. Influenced by both blues and country music, she honed her songwriting skills before signing with Chess Records in 1967. Her debut single, "A Love Reputation," achieved moderate regional success.
