Donald McKinley Glover Jr., born September 25, 1983, is a multifaceted American artist who has achieved significant success as an actor, comedian, writer, and musician. While he is widely known for his television and film work, he performs his music under the stage name Childish Gambino and occasionally uses the moniker mcDJ for his work as a disc jockey.
Glover was born at Edwards Air Force Base in California and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 2006 with a degree in dramatic writing. His professional career began in television when he was hired at age 21 to write for the NBC comedy series 30 Rock. He later transitioned to on-screen success, starring as Troy Barnes in the critically acclaimed sitcom Community.
