Birdman: Rapper, Executive, and Cash Money Co-Founder

Bryan Williams, known professionally as Birdman or Baby, is a prominent American rapper and record executive. Born on February 15, 1969, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he is best recognized as the co-founder of Cash Money Records and a member of the hip-hop duo Big Tymers. Birdman has also released collaborative albums and numerous tracks with fellow artist Lil Wayne, in addition to his solo career.

Early Life and the Genesis of Cash Money Records

Raised in Uptown New Orleans, Birdman, alongside his brother Ronald "Slim" Williams, established Cash Money Records in 1991. Initially using the moniker B-32 (an abbreviation for "Baby with the 32 Golds"), he released his debut independent album, I Need a Bag of Dope, in 1993.

The Rise of Big Tymers

In 1997, Birdman formed the duo Big Tymers with rapper Mannie Fresh. The group released their debut album, How Ya Luv That?, in 1998, followed by I Got That Work in 2000 and Hood Rich in 2002. I Got That Work featured the successful singles "Get Your Roll On" and "#1 Stunna," while Hood Rich included the Grammy-nominated hit "Still Fly" and "Oh Yeah!". Their fourth album, Big Money Heavyweight, was released in 2003, and the group disbanded in 2004.

Solo Career and Collaborations

Birdman launched his solo studio album career in 2002 with the self-titled release Birdman, which included the singles "Do That" and "What Happened to That Boy" featuring Clipse. He subsequently made guest appearances on singles such as Bow Wow's "Let's Get Down," Ginuwine's "Hell Yeah," and Juvenile's "Bounce Back."

His third studio album, Fast Money, arrived in 2005, featuring the singles "Get Your Shine On" and "Neck of the Woods," both with Lil Wayne. Birdman also produced and performed on tracks for Lil Wayne's albums Tha Carter and Tha Carter II.

In 2006, Birdman and Lil Wayne released the collaborative album Like Father, Like Son, which achieved Gold certification and produced three singles, including "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" and "Leather So Soft." Birdman was also featured on popular remixes of Jim Jones' "We Fly High" and Fat Joe's "Make It Rain."

His fourth studio album, 5 * Stunna, was released in 2007. The lead single, "Pop Bottles" featuring Lil Wayne and Jadakiss, was a commercial success. The second single, "100 Million," featured Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Dre, and DJ Khaled, while the third single, "I Run This," again featured Lil Wayne.

The first single from Birdman's fifth album, Pricele$$, was "Always Strapped" featuring Lil Wayne. Subsequent singles included "Written on Her" featuring Jay Sean, "Southside" featuring Lil Wayne, and "Money to Blow" featuring Drake and Lil Wayne. "4 My Town (Play Ball)" also featured Drake and Lil Wayne. "Written on Her" marked Birdman's first release in the UK in December 2009.

Originally planned as "Priceless 2," a sequel to his previous album, Birdman changed the title of his intended 2010 release to Bigger Than Life. The first promotional single was "Loyalty," featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga. The album was slated for release in the first quarter of 2011, with other planned collaborations including Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Bun B, and Drake. A music video was released for "My Jewel," featuring Bun B and Young Jeezy. The first official single, "Fire Flame," featuring Lil Wayne, was released on November 22, 2010.

Financial Success

Birdman's estimated net worth exceeds $400 million, largely attributed to various business ventures with Universal Music Group and the success of Cash Money Records. This financial standing positions him as one of the wealthiest rappers in history.
