History

Bubba Sparxxx, born Warren Anderson Mathis on March 6, 1977, in LaGrange, Georgia, is an American rapper. He gained significant recognition for his hit singles, including "Ms. New Booty," "Ugly," and "Deliverance." Sparxxx is also noted as one of the few white rappers to achieve mainstream commercial success in the hip hop genre.

Raised in LaGrange, Georgia, Mathis was introduced to hip hop through mixtapes sent from New York City by a neighbor. He began his recording career in 1996 with Lil Devil in a group named One Card Shi, though this collaboration was short-lived. A later solo release achieved some local success in Georgia. His album Dark Days, Bright Nights eventually attracted the attention of Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Records. Following a bidding war, Sparxxx signed with Interscope and collaborated with producers Timbaland and Organized Noize. The major-label release of Dark Days, Bright Nights, featuring five tracks produced by Timbaland and two by Organized Noize, debuted at number three on the Billboard Music Charts. In late 2003, he released his second album, Deliverance.

Currently, Bubba Sparxxx is signed to OutKast's Purple Ribbon Label, with distribution through Virgin Records. He is also related to the rapper Haystak.
