Biography Josephine Oniyama

Hailing from Manchester, UK, Josephine Oniyama is a singer-songwriter / guitarist, who made her début with the track 'Closer' (on "In The City: Unsigned 2006", Oct '06).

Josephine's first dedicated release was the EP In The Labyrinth ('08, Island).

She followed up her debut release with 2012's Portrait, which was well-received by critics. The praise for‘Portrait also saw Oniyama recognised by a diverse selection of her peers, leading to collaborations in the mid-2010’s with Travis (with whom she recorded the song ‘Idlewild’) and jazz producer/trumpeter Matthew Halsall (she co-wrote three songs for his acclaimed Into Forever album).

While writing and recording her new EP and album, Human, Josephine earned an MA degree in English and also became a mother.
