History Weltraum

WELTRAUM have been founded in 1999 as a psychedelic jam band. Until then a lot of musicians joined the project. They recorded several meetings to find the ultimate way to celebrate sessions without any laws and borders. It took some time to put the group together in order to give concerts, record CDs and resist for a longer time than just an exciting session evening.

Since 2004 they are really on the board to surf the heavy tides of spacewarp. Core members are Denniz Gockel (drums), Dora Gockel (bass) plus the two guitarists Boris Mihatsch and Sebastian Widjaja. The band's output counts more than 20 self-produced albums in the meanwhile where the most are recordings of live gigs. WELTRAUM could reach for a good reputation during the recent years and participated at many festivals. Taking the space rock as the starting point they are mixing this up with a proper portion of ethno flavour. Released by the German Bob-Media label the band's first official album 'Magnolia' (2009) comes up meditative, trippy and is headed by soaring guitars.

WELTRAUM are highly recommended to fans of mind-blowing spaced out music.
