History

Krakowska Grupa Bluesowa - Polish blues band from Kraków, formed in the spring of 1983 by Jarosław Sokół, who was the first manager of the group.

The original lineup consisted of Jarosław Sokół (manager), Dariusz Wiśniewski (harmonica), Jerzy Kowal (guitar), Artur Bazior (guitar) and Paweł Małysiak (bass). They were soon joined by Wojciech Namaczyński (drums), Artur Laszczka (keyboard) and Ryszard Swaczek (vocals). The first gig took place in late autumn of 1983 and was warmly acclaimed by the audience, as well as the show in Dworek Białoprądnicki, where KGB has concerted together with The Cooks, another blues band from Kraków. A bit later Ryszard Swaczek quitted the band, and the function of vocalist was took over by Dariusz Wiśniewski and Artur Bazior. In 1985, the band was admitted to the 5th edition of Rawa Blues Festival, which takes place every year in Spodek arena in Katowice, and was one of ten awarded bands. The group appeared on the festival twice again in the following years. In autumn 1985 saxophonist Tomasz Suchowiejko joined the band. At the end of 80s the band's activity was suspended.
