History Brave New World

There are at least four artists with this name.

1) A so called krautrock band. This band emerged from Hamburg and lasted only a few years. It included a mixture of local musicians and two “foreigners”. The German musicians were Reinhart Firchow (recorders, flutes, ocarina, stylophone, percussion, vocals), Lucas Lindholm (bass, bass fiddle, organ, piano), Dicky Tarrach (drums, percussion), Herb Geller (flutes, cor anglais, alto/soprano/tenor saxes, organ), the Irishman John O'Brien-Docker (guitars, organ, percussion, vocals, wind chimes) and Esther Daniels (vocals). As you can tell from the name of the band and one album title, their coming together was to make their instrumental interpretation of Aldous Huxley’s novel – A Brave New World.

2) An electronica band inspired by the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order etc. Brave New World began making music in the early 90's, and by 1993 the band would release their first full-length album Primal.

3) The earliest of these 4 artists to use the name Brave New World recorded a version of then recently Yardbirds' popularised number "Train Kept A Rollin" circa 1967. Regarded as a seminal recording by enthusiasts of raw and energetic 60's garage bands, although it was only a demo, the track has been released on retrospective garage compilations such as the "Northwest Battle Of The Bands".

4) An alternative rock/post-hardcore band from Pensacola, Florida, USA. Originally formed in 2014 by Christopher Eubanks, Scott Forte, Cameron Toups, Micah Peck, and Cameron Spivey. A few months after the band started performing live, Scott left the band to pursue a family and was replaced with new guitarist Odd Dawson. In late 2017, Micah and Odd left the band due to creative differences. Summer of 2018 announced their replacements as Alex Arcari and Nick Lee, and a single featuring the new lineup, Hiding Season, was released in March of 2019.
