Loud. Lazy. Lumpy. That’s Brain Size 61. Playing hard and loose with classic punk rock influences like the Sex Pistols, Ramones and Clash with some Dinosaur Jr. sprinkled on top. These guys get it done fast. Simple, catchy and straight up, Craig Hutchins on vocals, Mike Hutchins on guitars, JM Reid on bass and Stuart Asprey on drums.
Their last album, National Pinecone, gained the band notoriety in China, Europe and among certain members of the Las Vegas stripper community. The track Down the Drain was featured on 242 Records compilation Punk Kills Vol. 2 and got airplay on California college radio. So what? They’re lazy. Oh sure, they’ll play hard and fast cause they’re drummer kicks ass but they won’t come find you. Seek them out.
