History One Buck Short

History

Founded by Hafiz (previously on bass, was on National Service in Singapore for a while) and Rahul (guitars) in high school, this foursome of APITT and HELP students with a love for So-Cal punk pop began playing shows at school events and battle of the bands competitions before coming out in the local scene. Hafiz is back in Malaysia now, however bass duties are currently taken up by Izal.

Songs

Their debut single "That Day" from their EP Where Is The Mouse?! managed to break through to the top 5 on the Hitz.fm Malaysian Top 10 charts and the band were promoting their release with performances at both low-key underground shows as well as high profile shows such as Rock the World IV, Rock the World V as well as the Asian X Games. A few years ago, the band wrote the song Christmas Morning for charity (MusicCanteen Christmas Album) which is currently on their MySpace profile. The band was also nominated as the Best Newcomer artist in the first ever Hitz.FM Malaysian English Top 10 awards.

The band has recently been nominated for BEST ROCK and BEST LIVE ACT for the Malaysian English Top 10 Awards held on December 10th 2006. MET 10 Award Site

The first single of the band supcoming release (Halal & Loving It), "Fast Times", is currently on the radio and on the Malaysian English charts.

The band have a profile on MySpace and Bebo which features their own photos, ways to contact them and free song samples, the MySpace page consists of "That Day", "Punk Rock Picnic" and the most recent release, "Fast Times", which has just been released in its entirety (previously this song was just a 41 second preview).

Halal & Loving It

The band is currently finishing final touches to their debut album Halal & Loving It which is being released by Clockwork Recordings and EMI Malaysia. It's due out early 2007.
